Born and trained in Hungary, Gergő Teleki is a graduate of the Franz Liszt University of Music in Budapest, where he earned his Master's degree in Concert Piano. English Hungarian German Swedish

Gergő Teleki's musical journey began at the Franz Liszt University of Music's School for Exceptional Young Talent, where he studied from 1997 to 2004. He went on to earn his Master's degree in Concert Piano from the same institution, writing his thesis on the theme of musical dimension — Dimenzió — a concept that continues to shape his artistic philosophy.

During his studies he held a scholarship at the Malmö Academy of Music at Lund University in Sweden, studying under the celebrated pianist Hans Pålsson. These years abroad deepened his connection to the broader European musical tradition and brought an international perspective to his already formidable technique.

"Music is not something you perform — it is something you inhabit. Every note is a choice, and every choice reveals who you are."

A prizewinner at competitions in Switzerland, Hungary, Germany, and Romania, Gergő has performed solo concerts in Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, Sweden, and Switzerland. He has appeared with orchestras including the Montréal Philharmonic, the Hungarian State Opera House Orchestra, and the Hungarian Academic Orchestra.

Since making Canada his home, Gergő has built a distinctive musical presence in Ontario — performing in intimate house concerts and outdoor wilderness settings as readily as on formal concert stages, and teaching students of all ages through the Teleki Method he has developed and refined over a career spanning three continents.

The Academy

Teleki Music

Teleki Music combines educational excellence with performance opportunities, bringing European conservatory tradition to Markham, Ontario. The academy draws on some of the most respected traditions in classical piano pedagogy — a synthesis that remains genuinely rare in North America.

The Teleki Method is not a single school of thought but a living synthesis — drawing on the philosophical approaches of four of the greatest figures in piano pedagogy, each contributing a distinct and essential dimension to the teaching.

Béla Bartók
Philosophical grounding in folk music, rhythm, and the authentic voice of the instrument.
Franz Liszt
Virtuosic technique, expressive freedom, and the tradition of the great Hungarian school.
Frédéric Chopin
Refined touch, natural hand position, and the singing quality of the piano's voice.
Heinrich Neuhaus
Exceptional pedagogical depth — well-established in Europe, unique in North America.
